Brightest Cluster Galaxies and Intracluster Light: Their Mass Distribution in the Innermost Regions of Groups and Clusters

چکیده
We improve the model presented in Contini & Gu that describes radial mass distribution of brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) and diffuse component also known as intracluster light (ICL), by assuming global BCG+ICL follows sum three profiles: Jaffe exponential profiles for bulge disk BCG, respectively, a modified version an NFW profile ICL. take advantage wide sample systems simulated with our state-of-the-art semianalytic to (a) investigate reliability looking at several scaling relations between stellar within different apertures total BCG+ICL/halo mass, redshifts; (b) make prediction distance where transitions from BCG ICL dominated. find nicely reproduces all observed investigated present time compelling degree precision, but slightly biased low respect observations higher redshifts (z ? 0.5). The transition radius predicted is good agreement recent observational results, spans range ?15 kpc ?100 kpc. It mostly depends on morphology whether it or dominated, amount and/or disk, dynamical state group/cluster.

Intracluster Light in Nearby Galaxy Clusters: Relationship to the Halos of Brightest Cluster Galaxies
We present a detailed analysis of the surface brightness distribution of the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) in each of 24 galaxy clusters at 0.03 < z < 0.13. We use two-dimensional profile fitting to model the surface brightness out to r = 300 kpc for each BCG, comparing r1/4, r1/n, and double r1/4 models. We obtain statistically superior fits using a two component model consisting of a pair of...

We present a detailed analysis of the surface brightness distribution of the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) in a sample of 24 galaxy clusters at 0.03 < z < 0.13. We use two-dimensional profile fitting to model the surface brightness out to r = 300 h−1 70 kpc for each BCG, comparing r 1/4, r1/n, and double r1/4 models. The observed position angle and ellipticity gradients are inconsistent with a...
متن کاملAn imaging survey of a uniform sample of Brightest Cluster Galaxies and Intracluster Light
We present deep, large area B and r imaging for a sample of 49 brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs). The clusters were selected by their x-ray luminosity and redshift to form two volume limited samples, one with 〈z〉 ∼ 0.07 and one at 〈z〉 ∼ 0.17. For each cluster the data cover 41 × 41. We discuss our data reduction techniques in detail, and show that we can reliably measure the surface brightness ...

the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...

The CAIRNS (Cluster And Infall Region Nearby Survey) project is a large spectroscopic survey of the infall regions surrounding nine nearby rich clusters of galaxies. I describe the survey and use the kinematics of galaxies in the infall regions to estimate the cluster mass profiles. At small radii, these mass profiles are consistent with independent mass estimates from X-ray observations and Je...
